I'm giving you my heart.

While I was babysitting tonight, I was asked who the guy in the background picture on my phone was. I said it was Dan, and the little girl asked if he was my boyfriend or if he had ever kissed me. lolol.

Okay, let’s start with my morning. I intended to wake up at 6:30 because I had to do everrrrything (pack, shower, etc.) However, my alarm didn’t go off, and I woke up at 7:30 -___-. I was an hour behind, so generally we left about an hour late. So, we ended up leaving around 9:30-10 ish, but it was okay because I only live about 3 hours from Columbus, and we didn’t have to be there until 4. We went and got my best friend, then we were on our way.

We got to Columbus around noon or a little after. We went to Chipotle to eat, then to Urban Outfitters to look around, then to our hotel to freshen up before the Listening Party.  Chipotle is right beside the venue in Columbus & Action Item went there after their set. This is the picture that Brian put on instagram. It’s significant because we sat at the same table earlier. hah.

We left our hotel at 4 to go to the listening party. The email I got said be there no later than 4:15, and we literally got there one minute before. Mandy and I walked into the hotel lobby and found our friends Amanda & Sam! :D We sat with them and showed each other the presents we got for the guys. The LP was supposed to start at 4:30, but the boys didn’t come in until a little after (I found out later that it was because they were doing an interview). They said hi to us and then ran away. They went up to the second floor to get the room ready and whatnot. While we were waiting, my mom asked if she could come in the room with us and I assumed she could. She had a book and I told her that if she came in, Dan would come up to her and ask what she was reading. Then, Kat came down to get our info then led us upstairs. When we got upstairs Kat was telling us how everything would go and she answered questions that people had. I look over to the doors and saw Mark crouched down by the door with a banana peel. I really thought he was going to leave it there, but he didn’t. He just took a picture, which they never posted D:

ANYWAY. We went into the room and they just kind of awkwardly looked at us and said hi. Ant (maybe?) had his computer up and a playlist was on with artists such as Maroon 5, Andy Grammer, stuff that like. (they should put the playlist on spotify ‘cause I really liked it. hah) They were all singing and being crazy. Kat told everyone that we would start with the group pictures & Ant goes “Hey Kat! Can we take a sitting down picture today? Pleeease?” And I was thinking no no noo. Sitting pictures are SO awkward. But she let them do it anyways. The seating arrangement was Dan, Mark, Brian, David then Anthony. You got to go between Mark and Brian. Anthony was singing to David the whole time. As you walked over to them, they said hi, how are you? then complimented you. It was sweet.

After everyone had their pictures done, Anthony started talking. It went something along the lines of “Hey, everyone! Welcome to the LP. This is basically like our VIP for this tour. It’s really chill. Each of us are gonna come around and talk to you guys, take pictures, all that stuff. Is anyone herenotgoing to the show tonight? No? Good. -then everything got quiet- As most of you know, we’re working on an album that will be out sometime this summer. While we’re walking around, a few of the songs will be playing. We want to make sure you guys approve, so let us know if you like it. This first one is our new single that you guys have probably heard, it’s called Marching Band & you can purchase it on iTunes now.” Then it became quiet again because Mark hadn’t pressed play yet and everyone laughed. Anthony then said he hoped everyone had a good time at the LP and at the show later.

Me, Mandy, Amanda, Sam, and Sam’s cousin (I don’t remember her name. D:) were standing around talking and waiting to see who would come to talk to us first. Marching Band was playing in the background and Amanda and I were singing. “Oh, you know the words, too!? Good!” “Yeah, I listened to it on repeat for a while. It has around 500-600 plays xD” David comes over to us, says hi, hugs each of us then asked what was new. We talked and stuff, and every time a new song played, he told us the name of it. After Marching Band was Against the World, and I don’t remember what the other one was. haha. We gave him presents (Sam gave him pictures she drew, Amanda gave him a keychain with his name on one side and a lion on the other, and I gave him an Easter egg that was decorated like a lion.) He asked if we wanted to take pictures, so we did. I asked him to take a hand heart picture so I could send it to my other best friend that couldn’t make it to the show. So he did & asked why she couldn’t come. I explained the situation to him and he said he hoped she got to come to a show this summer. He walked away and went to talk to someone else.

Then came Daniel.

He came over to us and said hi, hugged us, and all of that stuff.and omg, he smelled amazing.Then Sam told him about the pictures she gave to David, so he went over to look at them, and when he came back, none of us knew he was there and it was a really small spot so it was a little awkward. Amanda goes “UHH..” and Dan says “UH!? What do you mean UH!?” So she told him that he scared her (and me) ‘cause we didn’t know he was there. Then he laughed at us. She gave him his present and he went to put it in his bag. He comes back again and I gave him his egg. It was like David’s, except it was a penguin. :3 I also gave him a little iron-bead thing (picture will be in the next post.) It was also a penguin and he was just so excited about it. haha. Before he went to put it away he asked if anyone else had something for him so he didn’t have to keep walking back and forth. xD He came back after putting the penguins away and we talked some and took pictures. Mandy told him how she skipped her senior prom to see them and he said that this would be more fun because high school sucks. hah.

After Dan was Mark, and that was pretty uneventful.

Then we talked to Brian. He told me he liked my shirt, hah. And he asked if we were excited for the show. I told him that I was, especially ‘cause I hadn’t seen the setlist yet. He told me that that was a good thing and would make the show better because I wouldn’t know what to expect. Then I mentioned how I wondered if they were playing Defenseless, but didn’t wanna look at the set so I made someone else do it for me. And he told me they weren’t but if I requested it they would play it during the acoustic set. We took pictures and Mandy told him about skipping prom & he told us about his senior prom and how it was such a disaster. xD Then before he left, I asked him about if he still had a Dunkin Donuts card and we talked about his drivers license and dunkin diesel. hahahaha.

As we were waiting for Anthony, Dan walked over to the table my mom was sitting at and he asked her what book she was reading like I told her he would. She didn’t believe me that he would do it, but it was pretty funny.

Finally we got to talk to Ant. First he went to look at the pictures Sam drew for them then he came back and took a funny picture with the keychain Amanda made him. Then he took pictures with them. And in one of the pictures with Sam, he made a funny face and everyone laughed. She asked him what he did and he goes “What are you talking about!? I didn’t do anyyyything! I smiled. I promise.” But then he started laughing, so she looked at the picture like :O and then laughed too. It was pretty great. When it was my turn, I told him I had presents for him. I gave him his Easter egg, which was like a panda, and then I explained to him about me asking over twitter if he’d be my valentine, and he told me he remembered. So I handed him this valentine that said “you rawwwk!” (It reminded me over that best coast interview, but I don’t think he got it. aha) THEN I gave him the present I had kinda been telling him about via twitter. I held it so he couldn’t see what it was and told him there was a story behind it. I told him that I had a friend that was terrible at math, but really good a drawing. I said that I was pretty good at math. She needed help one day with an assignment and told me she’d pay me to help her. I told her that I didn’t want to be paid, but in exchange for help, I wanted one of the pictures she’d drawn, that I knew a guy in a band, and he would love the picture, so I did the math and got the picture. Then I turned the picture so he could see it and he was speechless for a second. It was a picture of Taylor Swift. He said “Oh my gosh. This is incredible! Your friend drew this? And you did math homework, in exchange for this, for me!?” Then he gave me a really big hug. And we took pictures and he took an awkward prom picture with Mandy.

Then it was time for the acoustic set. They asked what songs we wanted, and I shouted out Defenseless. Someone commented that that was a good choice, so they asked what else we wanted. Someone said Dress for the Weather. Then it was suggested that they do the Christmas version and Anthony said, “Well, maaaybe.. if it was Christmastime.. AND THREE YEARS AGO! But since it’s not, no.” hahaha. They played the songs and we got our posters. Mark, Dan, and David all left to go walk the line, so we got Anthony and Brian to sign our poster. When we were talking to Brian, I casually smelled my poster and commented on how good it smelled. Everyone but Amanda (cause she did the same thing) looked at me weird and laughed. Brian asked what was so funny, so they told him and he looked at us like we were weird too. Then he smelled them and said “They smell like trees.. No! Wait, they smell like Home Depot!” hahaha.

Then it was time to leave. We piled four people in the back of my mom’s smaaaall car so we could go to the venue. And we got stopped at a redlight RIGHT IN FRONT OF A COP. But he somehow didn’t see us. We got to the venue and got to our normal spots (right in front of David). Let’s skip to AI’s set.

There were these little girls (like 10?) and they were annoying. Brian jumped into the crowd and they touched him, and they cried. Then he blew them a kiss during one of the songs and they cried more. When Brian was introducing everyone, when he said David, so many people screamed and clapped. It made me pretty happy. Other than them being obnoxious, it was great! After the set, the boys went back to merch while Hot Chelle was setting up. The annoying girls went back to meet them and get their cd. When they came back they were fangirling so hard. I’m not one to judge, because I fangirl quite often, but at least I’m not as bad as them. “Omg, I got a picture with the lead singer! And I got his autograph! Look. I think he said his name was Ryan? Yeah! That was it!!!” -_____-

Now we’re skipping to after the show. I’m just going to give the key points here cause yeah.

I talked to David first. He signed my poster and we talked about the show while we were waiting to get a picture. I got merch after I talked to him. Then we went to talk to Mark and Mandy told him how she wanted to steal his jacket. We walked over and talk to Brian ‘cause Ant and Dan were swamped. We walk over and he took my hand and said “Hi, I’m Bri- Oh wait, we’ve already met. You were at the LP! How did you like the show? It was better since you didn’t see the setlist, right!?” That made me really happy cause he remembered our little conversation. hah. So we took pictures then went to talk to the lead singer from Electric Touch. btw, Pizza sounds AMAZING in a British accent. We went over to talk to Dan and then security kicked us out a little. We talked to Anthony first and he stuck sharpies up his nose. Then we talked to Dan and two girls asked him if he still took silly pictures and he said that was thing of the past, unless the other person had an idea. So I said “But you’re Dan Brozek, you should have allll the ideas.” Then he laughed and I asked for a rawr picture, and he took it with me. :3 It was then 11 and security made us go outside.

We went to the alley and talked to Jaime from HCR. Sam and Amanda called their friend so she could talk to him, and he made her cry. Then he sang to her. hah. Dan kept running around and we were laughing. We whispered something to him and he told us we were being too quiet. We went to talk to him more and he talked to Sam & Amanda’s friend on the phone. Then he did Sam and Mandy’s voicemails. They were the greatest. Mandy’s was something along the lines of “Hey, it’s Dan. Mandy can’t get to the phone right now because she’s doing more important things. So, if you leave your name and number then she’ll think about getting back to you.” And Sam’s was “Hey, this is Dan from Action Item. If you wanna talk to Sam, you’ll have to get through me first! (and other things I don’t remember). We talked to him from a little after 11 until about 11:30.

Then we found RK and everyone took funny pictures with him.

I’m pretty sure that was everything. All in all, it was a great day, and I miss them a lot. You’ve probably seen Anthony’s twitlonger that he scared everyone with, but be on the lookout for new music. From what we heard, it’s going to be incredible. And following the album release there’s going to be more touring! I can’t wait!
